Fools Gold...God Damn!

Man, there is just no way you can hate on A-Trak. Everyone respects his dj skills, but goddamn if his remixes aren't moving floors. No disappointment from this fellow.

Lots of wonderful things happening with A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs' label, Fools Gold. Their brand of neo-90's and 80's inspired hip hop dance clash has really exploded within the dance party scene recently. But how could it not. With talent and music from Kid Sister, Kavinsky, Sammy Bananas, A-Trak, Cool Kids, Nick Catchdubs, Kid Cudi, Bag Raiders, this label sure seems to be amassing quite an impressive catalog. Appearing today on shelves is a whole slew of Fools Gold releases including the Kid Sister Pro Nails. You can get all the new stuff at Beatport and iTunes. We're especially looking forward to the up coming Kavinsky picture disc to be out later this year. Keep your eye on them, as they are sure to end up in your "favorite labels" catagory with Kitsune' and Ed Banger.

In other Fools Gold news, the label hits the road for a string of amazing dates. With a line up to drool over, you can expect great performances and vibe from Kid Sister, A-Trak, Kavinsky, dj Mehdi, Nick Catchdubs, and Cool Kids. Make sure you make it to one of them, as I'm sure this tour will kill.

Block Party

Bloc Party stops in this week for a show across the river at the Madison Theater. Make sure you get tickets for this one. I'm actually very surprised the Madison would bring a show like this to town. Respect for that.

Also, that night, less than a block away, Clique will play host to an "after Bloc Party afterparty party." Plenty of dancing and hoochie shaking there. Sets from me and Identity as well as Kfrey and Empirical. Make sure you come down after the show.

Boys Noize! Oi!

Oi you mofo's! Boys Noize does it for me, every time. The new BN release Oi Oi Oi is due out the 25th of September. For those unfamiliar with Boys Noize aka Alex Ridha, there's a good chance you've rocked out to this to him before. With remixes for the almighty Depesh Mode, Tiga, Teenage Bad Girl, the Kaiser Chiefs, and recently Maralyn Manson (released worldwide through Interscope September)this Berlin based producer always comes correct with his metal-esque dance floor bangers. Look out for a finished remix of Justice's Phantom coming soon.

Right now Boys Noize is on tour here in North America. Infact tonight, if you're in the Chicago area, head down to Smart Bar for the show! You'd be crazy to miss it.

Check out the promo video for the Oi Oi Oi release to expirience the Boys Noize brilliance.

Choose Your Own Adventure - this Friday!

This Friday at Clique!

So, this event is totally inspired by the recent Hearts Revolution release - CYOA. I thought, wow what a great idea for an event. Choose Your Own Adventure. Electroclash, dance rock and Blog House is on the agenda for the evening. So here is the skinny. This is why this event will be a rowdy party.

What is required at CYOA - Clique

You...

in your most imaginative adventure dress! There will be a variety of treasure for those who come raunchy and ready! The $100 Clique bar tab gift will be handed over to the best! Or will they choose whats in box 1?

The DJs....

all of the dj's are required to bring 3 additional records. Any style, any genre. These records will go in a box marked with a ?. At various points in their set, i will ask them to blindly choose a record from the box. They must take whatever they draw and play it, by mixing it as their next selection. Hows that for adventure.

The Menu...

How much do you pay for a topshelf drink? 6 - 7 bucks? Well, be smart. Choose the CYOA drink ticket. It's 5 Choose Your Own Adventure chapters of topshelf drinks for only $25. Each chapter you will get to choose from 1 of 3 drinks. Choose wisely. The outcome of your night depends on it!!!!!!

Come early, Come to dance!!! and .... GFY Guy!!

Yelle!

Yelle's album POP UP is awesome. I said it. So many of us have been waiting for this little French tart's new full length to drop, and in France yesterday, it did on Source Etc. Expect to see it on iTunes October 9th in the states. You should also be very pleased to hear that one of our favorite labels, Kitsune' will be releaseing the Yelle remixes EP. If any of those are as good as theRIOT IN BELGIUM's remix of A Cause Des Garçons , very heavy rotation there. There have been some remixes already popping up, which I found courtesy of the excellent blog, Big Stereo. So get your Yelle on now. Amazing grimey, electro, pop is always good for the dancing shoes.
