Merry Christmas all. Peace on earth and good will towards men. Kind of a great saying, old fashion, but still important. I know it's easy to forget, especially in this "get mine" world. But, just a reminder from yours truly, Love Between Equals. onward....

Another year is upon us, the end is actually in-sight. And what would the end of a year be with out Seb Love's fantastic Fun Factory All-skate party. A Roller Skating Jam called Wednesdays. I'm actually ashamed I've never been. But having heard the stories, and knowing a lot of the fun people that attend, I know in my heart of hearts, this will be a fun for all. And how could it not be? The Big Night

Well, as you may have heard, we here in Cincinnati are a pretty rowdy lot. We have our monthly, Juke, which dwarfs the vibes of all other parties in a three state area. You see, we take a 100 person capacity club, put more people than that in it, bring wicked party talent, and party down. Last Friday the place wigged out to Million $ Mano and Hollywood Holt (they murdered the joint!). Tonight, we dance. The Kleevage tour rolls through town tonight, tables blazing. The ever amazing Tittsworth returns with his equally amazing tour buddy, Klever. Sure to be a rocker. drop the 10 bucks for two amazing talents, it's always worth it, for Juke. Identity and I will be warming it up from 10 - 12....do it.

Armand Van Helden tore it up earlier this year with I Want Your Soul and Hustler (wicked remix too! brilliant.). With releases and hits spanning almost two decades, he's still to this day, on top of his game. Whether it be DJ sets, production, or remixing Armand continues to prove himself to be one of the true masters.

This is one of my favorite cuts of his from '97 that helped put him on the map.

I am a Blade Runner freak. If you are too, here is the best Blade Runner fan site out there. For those of you who know, or care it's been 25 years since this ground breaking film was made. Still one of Harrison Ford and Ridely Scott's best works, it's been a major influence and inspiration within electronic music world for years. So, why post about it here? How about, this is the only thing I want for Christmas, besides x-mas nookie. The 25th anniversary boxed edition of the movie comes out next week. You can read about it below... and all I can say is, "sweet!"

Due for re-release in December, this motion picture is one of the finest science fiction films of the 20th century. Part of this is because it projects a future that could be - the earth as a place with a ruined environment populated by people that couldn't or wouldn't make the jump to one of the more habitable off-world colonies. The other part is because the film questions what it means to be human, and explores the possibly unsatisfactory answers you might get if you could, like the replicants, hunt down your maker and ask him Why am I here? Why must my life end? I'll pretty much let Warner's press release do the talking from this point forward. Basically you have your choice of three different sets - 2-disc, 4-disc, and 5-disc. The discs are described as follows:

Disc 1 - Ridley Scott's All-New "Final Cut" Version of the film - Restored and remastered with added and extended scenes, added lines, new and cleaner special effects and all new 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio. Also included is commentary by Ridley Scott and a host of others that worked behind the camera.

Disc 2 - Documentary - Dangerous Days: Making of Blade Runner - A feature-length documentary about the film including viewpoints and insights from the cast and crew. Included are details on every stage of production of the film including special effects, casting, and even the film's literary roots and its place in the sci-fi genre.

Disc 3 - 1982 Theatrical Version - The original that contains Deckard's narration and has Deckard and Rachel's (Sean Young) "happy ending" escape scene.

1982 International Version - Also used on U.S. home video, laserdisc and cable releases up to 1992. This version is not rated, and contains some extended action scenes in contrast to the Theatrical Version.

1992 Director's Cut - Omits Deckard's voiceover narration and removes the "happy ending" finale. It adds the famous "unicorn" sequence, which is a vision that Deckard has which suggests that he is also a replicant.

Disc 4 - BONUS Disc "Enhancement Archive" - Eight featurettes, image galleries, radio interview with the author, and screen tests for the part of Rachel.

Disc 5 - Workprint Version - This rare version of the film is considered by some to be the most radically different of all the Blade Runner cuts. It has an altered opening scene, no Deckard narration until the final scenes, no "unicorn" sequence, no Deckard/Rachel "happy ending," altered lines between Rutger Hauer and his creator Tyrell (Joe Turkell), and alternate music.

Also included is commentary by Paul M. Sammon, author of Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner and a featurette - "All Our Variant Futures: From Workprint to Final Cut".

Mano and Hollywood Holt have been heavily making the rounds recently, and this Friday night the two party makers stop into Cincinnati for a visit. Clique Lounge is the spot where That Damn Kid (TDK), Nati Evolvement and Some Kids from Ohio (SKFO), are bringing us a serious one two punch from the duo. Mano, whose production has taken off as of recent, has some serious remix work under his belt. Remixing groups such as The Rapture and Modjo combined with the mic work of Holt they always leave a party sweatin'.

Seems like every one is dropping the Caked Up joint recently, and for good reason. It is killing the floor for sure. Here's a little work by Mano and Holt appropiately remixed by next months

What a year for Justice. Besides releasing, one of the best albums of 2007, Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge have once again pleased us by being nominated for three Grammy's. Just goes to show you the popular culture moguls are keeping an eye on our cool little corner. I mean, I absolutely hate the Grammy's. Truly good music is never is never rewarded in that arena. Here is my hypocrisy spilling out....would I accept a Grammy? Would I like to have a Grammy? the answer is unfortunately, yes. Haha, I crack myself up sometimes. It's like trying so hard to be environmentally conscious... then getting in my car to drive a half mile.

There are few labels as consistent as Boys Noize Recordings when it comes to the straight ahead hard funk. BNR delivers once more with a stellar effort from one of it's homeboys, D.I.M.. This Hamburg resident is most likely in your play list, having remixed the likes of Chromeo, Midnight Juggernauts, the Presets, Teenage Bad Girl, Jape, and Kim. Previews of his new one, Is You have been circling for a couple months around the blogs, and notably last month when a MSTRKRFT remix of the song appeared. Some of you might remember previous D.I.M. efforts such as Airbus Baby, Frogger, Sysiphos and Noize all out on Tiga's label Turbo. The Is You release is backed by the Brodinski remix, which I have not heard, but suspect is equally as hard. Danger! Danger! Danger!

Every once in a while a really exciting artist comes along and blows peoples minds. It is without doubt, that I believe Danger! to be one of the best new talents. There have been little glimpses of Danger on the blogs as of recent, and the hype is no bullshit.

Several months ago, the brilliant French label Ekleroshock, known for it's great artist selection snatched up a fresh faced 23 year old Franck Rivoire only 3 weeks after posting his tunes to myspace. Rivoire, a graphic designer and illustrator by day, has an amazing amount of support through the label, while quickly climbing to wunder-kid status by already being playlisted by Kavinsky, Boys Noize, and Data (and of course me!!!!).

His music is a reflection of the feelings and sensations of the most extreme of our existence; ecstasy, anxiety, fear, the sublime, the agony. If you haven't heard Danger! yet, please please do yourself a favor. It's a rare treat these days to listen to a tune, let alone a whole host of tunes, that can kill a dancefloor yet keep you engaged in it's screen play. Rivoire's music is hard, funky, and dark while retaining an incredible amount of imagery, tonality, and plot. Danger is the definitely the freshest thing on the set right now. Lofty expectations for this such a young voice.

Danger's album First EP is in stores (check Ekleroshock's site) as of yesterday (19.11.07, notice track 4...neato.), and includes 11h30 (brilliant tune!!!!), the Data 11h30 remix, 14h54, and 19h11. In the mean time.. Discobelle posted the 14h54 tune for download, grab it below. I'm only keeping it up for one day. Else you'll just have to get the entire EP!

Boxon Records Interview with Julian Minet

Boxon Records hits the ground running this Monday, November 19th 2007, with it's first release, Boxon 001 the Drama Queen EP. The EP features two incredibly promising French producers, Tom Deluxx (also of the equally wicked Just a Band) and Julien Milan(Read the Trash Menagerie feature on Julien here). The pair bring a brilliant blend of hard electro glitch to help define an extremely promising sound for Boxon. The ep lays out 4 new tunes for the label Drama Queen and Mushion Heroe by Tom Deluxx, whose style is easily fitting into the uncontainable dance-floor sound likening to that of Boys Noize. Pony Plage and the Drama Queen remix are stellar examples of a cohesiveness that Boxon delivers through Julien Milan's hard elctro / punk sensibilities. I need be said however, that, one just can't pigeon hole these two artists as just another part of the French electro scenery. The sounds are fresh, sexy, and pack great musical intonality. Look out for these two, because their on their way up for sure.

I was quite excited to catch up with Label Head Julian Minet to discuss Boxon's home, releases, art, and future plans. You can find the first of Boxon's many great releases through Discograph. Also, digitally the begining of December, through iTunes and Beatport.

1) Tell me about you. Your background and how you came to form Boxon.

JM - I took business studies, before to get a master specialized in event management, what helped me to become trilingual. I have been deejaying for ten years, playing piano for 12 years, and listening music for more than 26 years! That was my destiny to create a label.

2) What's your vision for the Label in 2008?

JM - It is programmed that the Boxon team will get bigger in 2008. I have already got gigs set-up for January, February and March. Then I hope to get booked in order to organize more Boxon Parties during the rest of the year. The ideal would be that these dates could be in accordance with the artists’ ambitions of my label, as well as keeping satisfying the interest from the organizations and from my contacts’ network about this project. I am just hoping that the 2008 vintage of Boxon Records will be as good as Bordeaux wines next year

3) Tell me about Bordeaux, how is the scene there?

JM - Bordeaux’s artistic scene is full of outstanding bands and dj’s, but some improvements could be done concerning the communication about the parties to go for example. Otherwise Bordeaux is quite alive at night. There are really cool places to have good dinner, to go out, and to drink good wine ;-).

4) I think people are really excited about this label, having heard some of the cuts. Tell us about the Boxon 001 Drama Queen Ep. Tell me about the process you went through in deciding on Boxon 001. Was it an easy choice featuring Tom and Julien? And How did you meet?

JM - Boxon 001 Drama Queen ep has been created in July 2007, following the first meeting we had between Tom Deluxx, Julien Milan, Anem (our graphic designer) and I. Then it has been really simple and logical that we made this project become true.

5) Is Boxon 001 just a teaser for Tom and Julien? Can we expect full- length albums from either of these two?

JM - Tom and Julien are on this “ep” because I believe in their talent.
The BoxonRec002 will be the first Ep 4 tracks of Tom Deluxx. It will be release on February 18th.

6) It must be tough dropping your first release in France when there are so many top notch labels right in your back yard, Ed Banger, Kitsune', Archibell, Ekler-o-shock, Institubes... etc. How do you feel Boxon stands out differently from labels like these?

JM - I have not created Boxon because of the existence of any label. I have just followed my intuition and I listened to the will I had to concretize some of my artistic ideas.

7) Talent wise, who else can we be expecting to appear on Boxon?

JM - We have some ideas concerning some upcoming Boxon artists, but I prefer not to say anything at the moment. Let’s see what happens… Box is On ;)

8) Another aspect of the label that stands out with Boxon is the Anem art. Tell us about how the two of you came together for the visual presentation of your first EP.

JM - Since the beginning, I have always trusted Anem. I have always been a big fan of her, and I am now very satisfied with the artwork she delivered to Boxon Records.

9) Tell me about your Boxon 001 release parties in Toulouse, Paris and Madrid. And why Madrid? Are there connections there?

JM -We have got these gig dates in order to promote the BoxonRec001. We’ll also play in Dormund and Leipzig in Germany in January 2008.
Why Madrid? Because I have lived there for two years, that’s one of my favorite cities, and I have got some good friends there.

10) Where can we find Boxon Releases? And where and when can Americans pick up Boxon 001?

JM - From November 19th, you will be able to find the BoxonRec001, with Tom Deluxx and Julien Milan, at Virgin, Fnac, and all the independent shops that order to our dear distributor, Discograph.
As well, you will be able to buy digitally our releases on iTunes and Beatport, etc. from the beginning of December.

11) Who should we be looking out for in 2008? Any favorite new Boxon talent?

Fixmer / McCarthy meet The Hacker

Hello all, dj empirical here.

I was looking for something in my closet this weekend and ran across a stash of cds with archived mp3s on them. Amongst the stuff I wouldn't normally mention (Steve Vai bootlegs, weird 60s sex ed LPs) were an album and single by Fixmer/McCarthy, a collaboration between Terrence Fixmer and ex-Nitzer Ebb vocalist Douglas McCarthy.

The single, "Freefall" isn't bad, but the remix by The Hacker is pretty pretty good. Here it is for your listening pleasure:

So, there are a couple things I know to be true. 1) Leather clad disco robots are fucking cool. 2) The moment Daft Punk release a female pleasure bot, I will buy it. 3)Daft Punk will always remain in my top 5 myspace friends. 4)If Daft Punk were selling lasek, I would have it done just to say I did, despite the fact that my eyesight is fine. 5) Chicks cream over Daft Punk's music. 6) No matter how hard they may seem to sell out (i.e. Gap, Kanye...) cool kids, hipsters, and electrophiles still love them. There is no hatin on the DP.

So, the above is, I'm assuming, the new Daft Punk alive video clip. I posted the submission rules a couple months back.. All of the shots were sent in by people in the audience at their Lollapalooza performance in NY. Awesome. - gfy

We like the Jukey! Krames!

We love Juke. Clique Lounge in Cincinnati always has the super number one awesome dance parties. But once a month, Those Damn Kids take it up a notch by bringing in the hot shots. This month, the excellent Cobra Krames of Cobra Kai. So, how many of you can say you saw Krames during a tornado? I know 99 other people that can. So while the rain, thunder, and ninja tornado raged outside, hot and sweaty boogie action was kickin it inside. Wicked support from Chinn and Empirical (who also takes all these photos), a little of Identity... and yours truly was able contribute. What a great night. I'll have more on Krames as soon as I finish the video... as I had the pleasure of traveling and playing with him friday as well, in Columbus. we'll see about some getting some new jawns from the leg sweeper for that. So watch this space, cause we're about sell you a kilo of fun.

The Teenagers graduate.

So, Kitsune' is dropping The Teenagers Homecoming EP on October 15th. If you haven't heard the original yet, which is out on the amazing Merok label, you're in for a treat. Remixes by Passions, Gentlemen Drivers and Guns N' Bombs. The Guns N' Bombs version has been in circulation for a bit, and it is definitely a killer (see the Kitsune' Maison 4 compilation, to see what I mean). The Teenagers are the multi-talented trio, now officially in London via Paris, (Michael, Dorian, and Quentin) are apparently hard at work on their first full length. In the mean time, their next single Starlett Johansson is due out the 12th of November on MEROK.
And, according to their bloggings, they will also be releasing an EP's on another awesome label Summer Lovers Unlimited out of Canada (known for some hot talent like Crystal Castles, Dandi Wind, Paul Devro, and Apache Beat) as well as RALLY KLEE in Japan.

So, it's time again for another LBE event adventure. This one, however, is a little more personal. This week has been a busy one. My Son, Xavier Deuteronomy ( we call him "the Dude") turned 3 yesterday. My Mother in-law turned I don't know how old on Sunday. My Grandmother's birthday is this week. And my sister's birthday is tomorrow, which happens to coincide with another special day. Cheesed out yet?

Even Better. Tomorrow is my 10 year wedding anniversary. Yep 10 years. We got married young, but it's worked. Hint: if you think marriage is easy, then everyone would be married. Knowing this, I can't say it's been all gravy. We've seen our share of shitty times. But the good definitely outweighs it all. And admit-tingly, it hasn't been easy, being betrothed to someone and being in this industry (back hussies, back!). And, usually, in our relationship, I am the sitcom husband whose always fucking up. But my wife is patient, and, cool as hell. If you've ever met the elusive Erika, then you would know. And after 10 years and 2 kids, she's still a hottie..or as I like to say, a MILF.

Man, there is just no way you can hate on A-Trak. Everyone respects his dj skills, but goddamn if his remixes aren't moving floors. No disappointment from this fellow.

Lots of wonderful things happening with A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs' label, Fools Gold. Their brand of neo-90's and 80's inspired hip hop dance clash has really exploded within the dance party scene recently. But how could it not. With talent and music from Kid Sister, Kavinsky, Sammy Bananas, A-Trak, Cool Kids, Nick Catchdubs, Kid Cudi, Bag Raiders, this label sure seems to be amassing quite an impressive catalog. Appearing today on shelves is a whole slew of Fools Gold releases including the Kid Sister Pro Nails. You can get all the new stuff at Beatport and iTunes. We're especially looking forward to the up coming Kavinsky picture disc to be out later this year. Keep your eye on them, as they are sure to end up in your "favorite labels" catagory with Kitsune' and Ed Banger.

Block Party

Bloc Party stops in this week for a show across the river at the Madison Theater. Make sure you get tickets for this one. I'm actually very surprised the Madison would bring a show like this to town. Respect for that.

Also, that night, less than a block away, Clique will play host to an "after Bloc Party afterparty party." Plenty of dancing and hoochie shaking there. Sets from me and Identity as well as Kfrey and Empirical. Make sure you come down after the show.

Oi you mofo's! Boys Noize does it for me, every time. The new BN release Oi Oi Oi is due out the 25th of September. For those unfamiliar with Boys Noize aka Alex Ridha, there's a good chance you've rocked out to this to him before. With remixes for the almighty Depesh Mode, Tiga, Teenage Bad Girl, the Kaiser Chiefs, and recently Maralyn Manson (released worldwide through Interscope September)this Berlin based producer always comes correct with his metal-esque dance floor bangers. It wasn't my first, but by the time I had returned, I hoped it would be my last. I had poured too much of myself into the drum and bass industry, and was feeling pretty frustrated with the lack of diversity dnb had to offer. So after having produced drum and bass since 1997, I decided I'd really expiriment with other styles. So, without boring you... here I am.

So the blogs are a buzz with the sweet sound of Hearts Revolution and Crystal Castles. If you're not familiar with the Hearts Challenger / Hearts Revolution, Lo and Benjamin are a DIY duo who have brilliantly conceptualized the idead of brand identity through the use of an ice cream truck. Well, we finally have some pictures from last Thursday's Juke! Compliments of Empirical and his friendly Viking. The Glamour made a stop in on their recent tour. The Glamour duo, consisting of Asher Gray and Richard Galling from Milwaukee, managed to turn a commonly uneventful Cincinnati Thursday in to a sweaty disco romp, that apparently no one wanted to end. Control, wow. Now, we all know that if the chics are dancing, well, the guys will too. And The Glamour managed to draw every hot hipster girl out of their hide-away and onto the floor at Clique. 90's hiphop and dance. Crazy good electro. Disco. Funk. It was all there! Who wouldn't dance? The two have this incredible ability to get everyone in a room on the floor and keep you there. Almost as if they've got you at home, in their own living room, with 50 other people banging on the walls. There is something to be said about that.

Well, it seems as if everyone has Daft Punk fever, even Kanye.. but more on him in second. Our Clique Lounge big man Zach returned from his weekend at Lollapalooza in Chicago with some good video footage. So I thought I'd post a couple from him. I'll have to see if he can get you the full rehash. But the word from everyone seems to be "amazing". I figured. Hope everyone had fun. Wish I could have gone.

On another related subject. It seems just when Mr. Kanye West starts to re-establish some credit with the electronic music fans, it seems he just cant seem to refrain from saying something disasterous. I know many of you have seen the videos of him with So-Me at Cinespace, and many of you have read about his hanging with Daft Punk,Busy P, and the Ed Banger crew.. but it seems Mr. West needs to get a better publicist! One who can keep him from making an ass of himself. Empirical found this last night and I believe this just re-inforces my theory that Kanye comes off more often than not as an egotistical blabber mouth. I am of the belief that somethings we think are better left unsaid. Case in point, this was taken from the Stereogum site yesterday :

Toxic Avenger Release Date

News from the Toxic Avenger this morning. September 14th is to be the date set for his upcoming EP on I Heart Comix. This should be an exciting release, which you can hear by the way, on his myspace. Full on hard dance is the object. Superheroes, which appears to be the title track from the release, is certainly packed full of gutteral synth and atomic bass. Featuring remixes by the equally exciting Bloody Beetroots, and Mixhell, the EP is bound to be on everyone's tops. Can't wait for more from the great masked one.

Busy P is in America. Racking up the sky miles with Daft Punk. He's also partying with his boy's SebastiAn and Kavinsky at the Lollapalooza Daft Punk / Rapture after parties. To say that I'm disappointed I had to miss the event in Chicago is an understatement (Send us pictures, we'd love to see them). But like many of you I have to keep up with him at theFader.com. He's posted a video clip of the Soulwax remix of Justice's Phantom Part II, which many of us are ready to hear full through. Anyone find a copy? Regardless, you can watch it below.

my brightest diamond

Hello! This is dj empirical with my inaugural post on the LBE blog.

This evening I caught the Rasputina show over at the Southgate House. Normally I wouldn't mention it here, as it's not the usual LBE blog fare, but the opener was the amazing My Brightest Diamond, a.k.a. Shara Worden. She played a solo set, without her band, just a guitar and her incredible voice. I picked up both her album, Bring Me The Workhorse (released last year... shame on me!) and this year's remix disc, Tear It Down.

The latter features thirteen remixes by various people, though the only two i recognized initially were gold chains and alias (as i figured, the anticon guy, not the grime/dubstep guy, which would have been way cool). On the way home, i threw in the remix cd and skipped directly to the Gold Chains mix. Killer.

Poking around on the internets a bit revealed a video for the GC remix. Excellent!

Bjork's Innocence remixed By Simian Mobile Disco

Bjork's second single off of Volta is released today. The Timbaland produced tune Innocence gets a good rework from the ever busy Simian Mobile Disco. With a recent stop over in the US and the July 23rd release of the I Believe single, the SMD duo of James Ford and Jas Shaw don't seem to be letting up. Their previous ventures on Kitsune', Cassette, and the more recent romps on Wichita, have been killing the dancefloors all over the world. By now you've probably heard their recent album Attack Decay Sustain Release, and the recent favorite It's the Beat Single (posted in the LBE archives is the Teenager's version, yummi) and You can enjoy their recent show in Philly, below.. and even further...the Innocence remix. For all of you who are as excited about the upcoming Midnight Juggernauts album as I, here's a little pre-hype excitement for you. The Australian release of the Midnight Juggernauts of Dystopia, on Siberia Records, is set for August 4th. The buzz surrounding this band is gathering steam, as they've garnered an amazing amount of loyal fans since their European tour last fall. F.U.B.A.R Now!

The FUBAR event at Clique in Cincinnati,hosted by Racecar Productions, was a lovely time. I love techno, and there was plenty to go around. The evening was not without it's dance rock, blog house love. Midstate rocked the early evening, infusing punk with dubsteb. Very cool. And yours truly tested out some new tunes. strictly for the ladies. With a new digital release out, Evan Scott brought some incredible dark, minimal techno to the fold.... while the rest of the crew wrecked it proper. Just a repost of an up coming event. FUBAR, will be taking place within the greater Cincinnati area, next weekend, on July 27th. Brought to you by the lovely crew over at Race Car Productions, this will definitely be a fine night of Techno and Blog House. I will definitely be there, shedding the light on my obsession with dance rock, blog house, and electro. But, I'm quite excited to hear Midstate... Get your techno on and come out. Skoozbot will be there, as will the excellent mod vs. rocker battle between Evan Scott and Kfrey. See you on Friday at Clique Lounge (Cincinnati's only place to hear fucking great music).

Oh, and there's also some hub - hub about an afterparty with JPLS from M_NUS (Richie Hawtin's uber minimal Minus techno label)...so keep an eye on this one.

So, how does most of America feel about Kanye West? I think most of us have seen Oprah's show, making him out to be this humble, sensitive, compassionate rapper. But you know what..I really am not feeling him at the moment. I mean, lets face it, everyone is talking about how cool it is that he's sampled Daft Punk, and included them in his video. I disagree. Daft Punk was doing just fine without him. Even people who don't know who Daft Punk is, can recognize most of their hits. And frankly, we've seen the video and heard the tune, and it truly amazes me that a guy like Kanye can get to a point in his career, where, all he has to do is slow down someone else's tune and rap over it. Now, I am all about sampling. It's an essential backbone of modern electronic music. However, taking an entire tune...well. You can judge for yourself.

Now, as far as class? No, Kanye, I'm sorry. Need I remind all our readers of the ego driven, poor looser at last year's MTV Europe awards, when Kanye lost best video to little known Justice? See it below. And, wow was the director, and Ed Banger wonderboy So Me graceful amidst Kanye's insults. Funny, what a sore looser dick.

On a totally unrelated note... This is why Stevie wonder was such a bad ass. Something Kanye could only wish to be.

Annie Mac and Chromeo

I am convinced, that the most original, diabolical, and hottest act on the circuit right now is Chromeo. By my accounts, P-Thug and Dave 1 can do no wrong. Being a product of the 70's and thereby living the 80's in my parachute pants, white glove, and striped hair-do, I love anything that remotely reminds me of my rollerskating days. This is why, I believe Chromeo's Fancy Footwork album to be one of the best this year.
With a slew of dates spanning the world right now, the duo is delivering some incredible live sets. Last Friday, the 13th, they made an appearence on the lovely Annie Mac's show, the Mash Up. The interview and minimix is up, and worth a quick listen. With all hopes, maybe we'll get a Chromeo set here soon in the midwest. If not we'll just have to check their tour page for Fancy Footwork Tour dates elsewhere.

Digitalism Essential Mix

I've always been a fan of BBC Radio. Especially Essential Mix, because Pete Tong usually has, well, essential mixes. Recently the show has highlighted some great artist including the most superb Justice. Well once again, he's provided a real treat in this excellent set from German super duo and Kitsune artists, Digitalism. Their recent album, Idealism, is a brilliant compiling of all their best qualities, both dreamy and smashing. Take a good listen to this 2 hour mix, as it is packed with some great tunes.

The excitement never ends in my neighborhood. Emphasis on the "hood". So the picture you see here was taken by me this morning, and then aired on all the local news stations. Yes the trap house, crack house, or whatever, next to mine burnt down. There is a god. We've been secretly wishing, since we bought our house, that something like this would happen. See kids, dreams really do come true. And all of this was made possible, allegedly, by a little 10 year old named Brandon. Now, Brandon is a local kid on my street, who by the way, doesn't live at this house. He lives down the street. But Brandon is actally a pretty good kid, very respectful, unlike the rest of the hoodlum, rednecks, and prostitutes on my street. So Thank you Brandon.
